Mud fever in horses
Mud fever in horses is a condition of the skin in the pastern cavity. This infection can, however, spread to the rest of the leg. Factors which influence this condition are horses being housed over a long period in a damp environment, with damaged skin as a result. Mud fever can be recognised from inflamed skin with mainly scabby lesions, itching and in severe cases even swelling of the whole leg and lameness.
Global Medics’ Derma-Pro has a soothing and protective effect on the wounded and irritated skin that is affected by the condition. The healing extracts in our product Derma Pro support the horse’s natural healing powers.
